Sleepy Saturday What's Up?

 Good Morning OFF Family,
I had a great day yesterday.  A friend from church came over and helped me put away all of my clothes that were in boxes, as well as all of my books.  One of my bookcases was destroyed in the move, but it served me well while I had it.  I have a closet with shelves in it, and they took all of my books that were left in boxes after loading the bookcase that did not fall apart with books.  I also hung the pictures and decorations in my living room.  Now, it looks like home.

Today, I am going to go down to the Italian Festival, which was postponed from Sunday due to the flooding,  After the festival, I am heading to my therapist's office.  It has been ages since I saw him.  Between the move and my foot injury, I had trouble getting there till today.

Hope to see the Phillies clinch the N.L.East today.  The Braves lost, but so did the Phillies last night.  So, with a Phillies win, or a Braves loss, they have it.

I hope everyone has a great day.

Hugs,
Trish

Hi
Just another weekend of preparing lectures and spending as much time outside as possible.  I bought some blue and dark purple, almost black, tulip bulbs and will plant them soon.

I spent last weekend in Toronto and what a hopping place that is.  All of the condos going up downtown and the $600,000.00 cost of the average, detached house are a testament to the well-being of that city.
the Toronto International Film Festival - TIFF - was taking place at the same time that we were there, and the streets were full of people late Saturday night including stars from the films.
Since i am a vegetarian and my friend a vegan, it took us a while Saturday night to find an appropriate restaurant.  Finally, around 9:30, we came across a serendipitous choice!  the restaurant was on Yonge St  -  the main, downtown street  -  and we were seated in this open area almost on the sidewalk facing Yonge.  At one point, George Clooney walked by and then there was a parade of Asian Indians from a new film that was being shown.  There were dancers, singers, rickshaw-like vehicles and an elephant!  It was surreal and very enjoyable.  The last person in the parade, who was in a rickshaw-like vehicle, drew lots of attention and screams, but there were so many women in front of me taking pictures that I couldn't see who it was.  What a fun night in a safe, great-to-be-in city.
The next day it was home to reality and my nice, warm house and picking up my two, loving, fun, goofball dogs .  Nice to go away but also nice to come home even after just one night away.
Have a great, safe weekend.

Good morning, ya'll.
Our internet was down for almost 36 hours. Withdrawal!! Not really, but I did miss reading all the posts on here, plus keeping up with all my friends on Facebook. Yesterday afternoon it took me quite awhile to catch up. I had 86 e-mails! But that is the address I use when I am ordering or looking something up online, so it is mostly junk. Ads from GNC, Bernat Yarn, etc. I am glad to be back though.
It gave me a chance to devote all day to sewing. I finished the Superhero and nearly have the other witch done. I discovered I didn't have enough fabric for the purple clown. It is velveteen with a nap, which means the pieces have to be cut a certain way. My DIL didn't take that into account when she purchased the fabric last year ( she isn't a sewer so she didn't know ). Of course that material is not available anymore. Not at Han**** Fabrics here or online. So I bought a different black crushed velvet looking fabric on sale. Sooo, the boy clown will have to wait til I get back from Mexico. Him and the pink princess are all I have left (after I finish today's witch). Hip hip hooray! My DIL will be over today so we can go through them all and see if we need to get any accessories for any of them.
Monday I am going to Mexico to have WLS revision. I will be gone from the 19th to the 26th. Keep your fingers crossed that everything works out as planned. Why is it that the first time I had to do a pre-op liquid diet it seemed easy. This time all I wanna do is put solid food in my mouth? Another positive to sewing all day!
Better get moving.
Everyone have a fantabulous day!

 Grammy,
I will be praying for you as you have your revision done.  What kind of surgery will it be this time?  You may have told us, but I missed it.

Good for you for all the costumes you are making.  I made my Isabel a princess gown in gold last year for Christmas, because she wanted a similar one at the Disney store, which they wanted $150 for.  I got all the materials for around $42 on sale at Joann's.

I had to pack all of my sewing stuff when I moved, and need to organize it in the basement so I can access it easilyh when I start sewing again.

Hugs,
Trish

Good luck on the revision, Caroline. I know the pre-op diet for me was pretty easy ... the hard part was giving up caffeine (don't know if I could do that again ... I need my coffee! )

Hope you can keep in touch while you're in Mexico, and I hope all goes well.
